Sunday Family Ministry Schedule

  • 9:00 Breakfast Treats
  • 9:15 AM Education Hour for Children and Adults
  • 10:30 AM: Worship Hour
  • 11:30 AM Fellowship Hour

Pre-K to Grade 8: Our Spark curriculum is lectionary based material. For us that means that the entire Sunday school will be discussing the appointed Bible readings for the day. In addition, our lower Sunday school will be delving into the Bible story appointed for the “Third Sunday” of each month and presenting their learning in worship by way of drama, music, art and service. Service includes such things as being acolyte, crucifer, banner bearer, lector, usher, greeter and writer and reader of prayers for the church.

Each Sunday we begin with breakfast treats at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. At 9:15 we have an intergenerational opening, again in the Fellowship Hall. All children, youth and adults who are present are welcome to join in the opening. The opening is followed by classroom study time and then drama, art and worship planning. All children and youth are encouraged to be a part of the worship experience at Calvary, as Calvary welcomes children and youth in worship.

You may register your child for our Sunday School Program by using the online registration link above. If you have questions, please call the church office at (952) 941-1251 or email our Christian Education Director, Rebekah Moir at rmoir@calvaryedina.org.

Sunday School Mission Project

Each year our Sunday school children adopt a mission project to support. We get to practice putting God's Word into action, and learn how our generous stewardship of God's gifts can make a difference in the lives of others.

In 2016-2017, we raised more than $1,000 to purchase diapers and toilet paper for VEAP, the food shelf that serves our area. Then we got together with our neighbors from St. Alban's Episcopal Church and St. Patrick's Catholic Church to package the items in smaller quantities for families in need.

Past projects have included purchasing community gardens, irrigation systems, animals and an orchards ELCA Global Barnyard, ELCA Malaria Net Fund, Lutheran World Relief Clean Water Project, a local inner city Latino congregation, and Infant Kits for Global Health Ministries.
